It’s all in the details. 🤎

The balance of materials, the warmth of the finishes, and all of the little decisions that bring a space together.

We believe a well-designed home should feel just as good as it looks. Thoughtfully layered, effortlessly cohesive, and most importantly, a reflection of the people who live there.

Because beautiful design is about more than just a pretty space. It’s about creating a home that feels like you.

What do you think?! Are you ready to create a home that feels like you? 😉 DM us to get started! 💌

Things that caught my eye while shopping yesterday. 🤎

We’re constantly taking pictures when we’re out shopping because you never know when the right piece might work its way into a project, or when something will just spark an idea. 💡

These were a few of our favorites from yesterday. Apparently we’re very into warm wood, sculptural chairs, antique-inspired details, and really good texture right now… Who knew?! 😂

Some pieces we’d use in a heartbeat, some we just loved enough to stop and take a picture. Either way, we thought we’d bring you along for a little look through our camera rolls. 📷

Which one caught your eye? 🙊

Thanks for stopping in!📱

More on ~The Heirloom Edit~🤎

This dining room already had the most important piece: a beautiful table with family history. Our job was to design around it—bringing in softer textures, updated lighting, warm neutrals, and just enough contrast to make the existing pieces feel intentional again. 🕰️

We didn’t want this room to feel overly styled or brand new. We wanted it to feel collected, comfortable, and like it had always belonged in this home. 🏡

Sometimes the best transformations aren’t about replacing everything—they’re about knowing what’s worth keeping. ✨

This one was all about making the room feel warmer, more inviting, and more intentional—while still working with the character that was already there. 🤎

Such a good reminder that you don’t always need to start from scratch to completely change how a space feels.

Have a room that doesn’t quite feel finished? Let’s change that. ✨ Inquire through the link in our bio! 🔗📥

Dark, but never heavy. 🤎

We leaned into the drama in this living room with a deep, warm brown and matching trim & millwork; then, balanced it all with warm neutrals, creamy upholstery, natural textures and light wood floors.

The result? A space that feels moody and elevated, but still warm, comfortable, and completely livable. 🍃

One of our favorite design reminders: dark walls don’t always make a room feel smaller. Done right, they can add depth, highlight the architecture, and make everything else in the room come to life. 🙈✨

Would you go this dark in your living room?! …We sure hope so. 😌

A little behind the scenes lately from our Oakview Build Project.

So much of the design process looks like this— pulling samples, comparing finishes, changing our minds, and making a hundred little decisions until everything feels just right. 😮‍💨👌

It may not be the glamorous part, but it’s one of our favorites. 🤎

The first impression. 🤎

A warm wood console, sculptural lighting, collected artwork, and a little greenery were all this entry needed to feel finished. ✨

Rather than filling every open surface, we focused on scale, contrast, and a few pieces that could carry the space. The oversized greenery adds height and softness, layered artwork keeps the console feeling collected, and the darker finishes tie back to the front door and chandelier. 🌿

Even the open shelf was kept simple- a few stacked boxes and pottery add texture without making it feel busy.

Most importantly, we wanted this entry to feel lived-in, not staged- like the pieces had been collected over time rather than perfectly placed all at once. 🕰️

That’s always the balance we’re after: layered and finished, but still relaxed enough to feel like home. 🤍

Til’ next time,

For this space, we focused on layering warm textures, timeless finishes, and comfortable furnishings to create a room that’s both beautiful and meant to be lived in. Every detail was chosen with everyday life in mind, proving that a home can feel elevated without sacrificing comfort. ✨🛋️

The easiest way to make a room feel finished? Throw pillows. 😚

They’re more than just an accessory- they’re what bring warmth, texture, and dimension to a space. By layering different sizes, fabrics, and subtle patterns within the same color palette, you can create a look that feels custom without overwhelming the room! Which is always the vibe we’re going for at HMDS. 🌿

It’s often the smallest details that make the biggest impact. 🤍

Save this post for your next styling day, and tell me—which pillow combination is your favorite? 🤩

One of the easiest ways to make a home feel custom?

Mix time periods. 🕰️

Pairing a traditional crystal chandelier with streamlined furniture, oversized artwork, and understated styling keeps this dining room feeling collected instead of predictable. Don’t be afraid of contrast- it’s often what gives a room its character!! ✨

Save this idea for your next renovation or furnishing project! 📥
