What is an “undisclosed driver?”
🚘 people who have access to and regularly driving the vehicles covered under the policy but are not identified “listed” as a regular driver!

If someone is a regular driver of your vehicle- regardless of their relationship- they should be listed see the examples below below:

👉🏻All drivers who drive the vehicle(s) on the policy once or more in a typical month.
👉🏻All drivers who regularly drive the vehicle(s) at least three months of the year.
👉🏻For business related vehicles, also include the business owner(s) and employee(s) that drive the vehicle(s) in any capacity.
👉🏻All children who are licensed drivers.

*this list is not necessarily inclusive but the majority of scenarios*

⚠️You don’t want a claim denied because of “undisclosed” drivers.

If an individual falls in any one of these categories, they must be listed as a driver on the policy.

This is a significant change to the “permissive use” policy language.

All policy language has been updated and can be reviewed on your online account.

🌀Hurricane Prep Ahead of Francine🌀

Tracks continue to shift more east. So everyone in our area should be prepared for hurricane conditions. Good news is that it looks like it will move quickly. However, we should expect at minimum widespread power outages. In the meantime, below are some tips that I hope are helpful:

1. Grab flashlights, batteries, portable chargers, canned foods, bottled water etc to prepare for power outages. Maybe even download movies/ shows to your iPad. Get board games ready. Grab a good book. But really- make sure all phones/ computers etc. are fully charged.

2. Document everything. Today, go through your house and video each room, closet, pantry etc. Take pictures of the outside and inside of your house. You can never have enough documentation.

3. If your home has damage from the storm. Take pictures of home and damage. Then do what you can to MITIGATE future damage. Keep all receipts and documentation along with a log of hours you worked mitigating future damage etc.

4. If you do have a loss, you have 2 years from date of loss to get everything turned in and reimbursed. So do not stress over getting everything turned in immediately. You have time.

5. Make an online account with State Farm. Use the app (text 78836 for link to download) or go to Statefarm.com. This gives you access to all of your accounts if our office loses power. You can track your claim online, upload pictures etc.

6. Regarding a loss to your auro, if your engine was under water- do not start the vehicle. If your vehicle was flooded- take steps to extract water and start drying process. If your car has any openings (ex: broken window), take steps to prevent future damage. Only if necessary, have your vehicle towed or make temporary repairs.

We are working in the office until 3:30pm Tuesday. We will attempt to log on remotely Wednesday morning until about noon, if we have power. And then depending on power/ safety of roads, we will try to be back in the office Thursday or work remotely.

If you cannot get in touch with us because our office does not have power, call our main office line at 504-454-3456. We will have our State Farm Customer Care Center answering incoming calls to our office Wednesday and Thursday if we lose power. We will attempt to be back online as soon as we possibly can after the storm.
