I want to take this opportunity to say that Asheville is over 2,000 feet above sea level and still experienced this flooding. Please understand that X or C (Preferred Flood Zones) zones are still flood zones. Everywhere and anyone can experience a flood.

Effective October 1, 2021 the NATIONAL FLOOD INSURANCE PROGRAM will be changing the way they rate flood risks. This is an important time to look over your renewal flood policies and make sure you understand the changes.

The NFIP is a program under FEMA that has been around for almost 53 years. They are in charge of setting majority of flood rates for the entire country. This change will likely impact the majority of us in South Louisiana and should be carefully reviewed by each homeowner.
