CMS GLP-1 Bridge Program: What You Need to Know

From July 1, 2026 through December 31, 2027, eligible Medicare beneficiaries can purchase select GLP-1 weight management medications. I posted the eligibility requirements earlier.

Key Points:
1. Covers select GLP-1 medications for weight management that are not covered by Medicare Part D.
2. The benefit is separate from Part D and is not administered by Insurance Carriers. The program is administered through Medicare.
3. Your physician must refer you to the program.
4. There is a $50 copay for a 1-month supply. The copay will not count towards your deductible or your Max-Out-of-Pocket. The Bridge program is separate from your prescription drug plan.
