Your job budget is only as good as the books behind it.

Monthly reconciliations aren't just about making sure the bank balance matches. They're how construction businesses catch:

✔️ Job costs posted to the wrong project
✔️ Missing customer payments or draw deposits
✔️ Duplicate vendor bills or credit card charges
✔️ Unrecorded subcontractor and material expenses
✔️ Bank errors or unauthorized transactions
✔️ JobTread ↔ QuickBooks sync issues before they snowball

When your books aren't reconciled, your job profitability reports become guesswork. That makes it nearly impossible to know which jobs are making money, when cash is getting tight, or whether you're staying on budget.

Whether you're a custom builder, remodeler, or specialty trade contractor, monthly reconciliations give you reliable numbers so you can make confident decisions—not expensive assumptions.

If you're a few months behind, don't panic. It's fixable. The sooner you get everything reconciled, the sooner you can trust your numbers again.

Clean books. Accurate job costing. Better decisions.

Some commonly missed expenses are:

- Bank and processing fees
- Supplies purchased personally for the business

Which expense do you think business owners forget to track the most?

Just because you traveled does not automatically mean the entire trip is tax deductible!

Business travel must have a clear business purpose to qualify for deductions.

Keep records for flights, hotels, mileage, parking, tolls, meals, and other business related expenses. Save receipts, mileage logs, and document who you met with and the purpose of the trip.

If your travel includes both personal and business activities, only the business related portion may qualify.
