A few years ago I experienced the death of a close friend due to a motorcycle accident. This was heart wrenching as it hit so close to home. The accident was devastating nobody could believe he was gone. This left an impact on everyone, but mostly on his wife and kids. The aftermath, the parts most people miss because they aren't close enough to see, was even worse. Watching what his wife went thr
ough during the months that followed. She had to get several copies of the death certificate to change accounts into her name. Having to carry those around as a reminder of the tragedy was just as bad as cashing in some of the savings to pay for the funeral. He didn't have life insurance or any real financial planning, which left her in a tight spot of getting a second job. Eventually she started to sell whatever she could to keep the kids in the lifestyle they were accustomed to. But that was short lived. She soon put the house up for sale. Pulled the kids out of school moved them away from everything they have known to move in with her folks in another state. Within a year's time she lost everything; her husband, their savings, their home, and their way of living. To some it happened in the blink of an eye, but to those close it was a long drawn out painful situation. You can imagine how this has affected my life and how this transfers to my daughter. I took a good long hard look at my life and my situation and decided to make a change. People know me as the go to guy for helping others, so I followed that path into the financial world. These days I provide financial education to people, which will help to safeguard their families and everything they have worked so hard for.
