At their March meeting, the Fed voted to hold policy rates for now and signaled two cuts later this year. The Board's statement described current stability yet uncertainty for the future. The Fed doesn't control mortgage rates directly, and economic or geopolitical events are more likely to have an impact on mortgage rates at this time.
