Happy Memorial Day!
I post this each year as a reminder of why we celebrate Memorial Day.
Yes, I served, and I feel proud, fortunate, and thankful to be here despite all the disabilities I have incurred as a result.
Every time the Anthem plays, it touches me deeply, differently than those who have not served, reminding me of the shared experiences and sacrifices that bind us.
I remember Patton's quote, “No [one].. ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making other[s]..die for their country.”
My returning home to pursue my dreams = others did not return and are not pursuing theirs.
As we enjoy this Memorial Day weekend, let's take a moment to reflect on its true meaning and the sacrifices it represents.
