Tina Haines of Louisiana and team agents attended the 2026 Governor's Office of Disability Affairs (GODA) Conference on August 5 and 6 at the W.C.C. Claiborne Building in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The conference provided valuable Information for all individuals with disabilities. This 2-day event featured presenters who shared information and gave participants the opportunity to learn about current research and updated disability resources.

Missouri has officially designated June 2 as Self Directed Supports Day, marking the first statewide recognition of its kind in the state’s history.

Issued by Governor Mike Kehoe, the proclamation recognizes the importance of self-directed supports and the individuals, families, caregivers, and community partners who make them possible across Missouri.

Self-directed supports empower individuals with disabilities to exercise greater choice and control over their services, helping them live, work, and participate in their communities in
ways that reflect their goals and preferences.

Acumen was a sponsor and exhibitor at the 1st Annual PDAG Conference in Atlanta, Ga on 8/26/25. This conference was the first of its kind, specifically for those who choose to self-direct their home and community-based services in GA. Many Acumen clients were in attendance and came by to visit the Acumen table. Keynote speakers presented on a variety of important topics related to the self-directed community.
