“Memory is just a tiny part of brain functioning, and there’s a lot you can do to protect your brain health,” says Johns Hopkins neurologist Barry Gordon, M.D., Ph.D.

His top five suggestions?

▶︎ Weave heart-pumping exercise into your daily routine.
▶︎ Take care of any medical problems.
▶︎ Get enough sleep, and get help for existing sleep problems.
▶︎ Review the medications you’re taking with your doctor.
▶︎ Stay socially engaged.

A temporary federal subsidy that helped keep Medicare Part D premiums down is being phased out, which could mean higher premiums or plan changes for some beneficiaries in 2027.

Not everyone will be affected in the same way as premiums, drug formularies, and pharmacy networks vary by plan. However, this is why it is so important to review your Medicare coverage every year during the Annual Enrollment Period (October 15 - December 7) even if you want to stay with the same plan.

Learn more in the article below.

The Trump administration’s move to discontinue the subsidy is raising concerns among Medicare Part D enrollees about how much they’ll pay for coverage.

Recent reports suggest some Medicare Advantage plans may scale back supplemental benefits in 2027 as insurers respond to rising healthcare costs and funding changes.

Benefits that could potentially be affected include:
• Dental
• Vision
• Hearing
• OTC allowances
• Flex or grocery cards
• Transportation benefits

Because Medicare plans can change from year to year, reviewing your coverage during the Annual Enrollment remains one of the most important steps you can take to ensure your plan still fits your needs.

Americans enrolled in Medicare Advantage health plans should expect to see fewer extra benefits like gym memberships and vision and dental coverage next year, investors and industry experts say.
