N8s Cause

N8s Cause N8s Cause was founded to help with expenses that Nate will face on this long journey he has in front of him. He was born here in Merrimack 26 years ago.

I am not sure where to begin by telling you about Nathan James Fogg . He has recently been diagnosed with hodgkins lymphoma and we are looking to find any help we can to help with medical and living expenses
He is and extraordinary young man. He is the oldest child of 7. When Nathan was 10 years old his father James died of a heart attack. At this point there were four children 10 and under. It

was him and his 3 brothers and sisters who were 9, 6, and 4. As you can imagine this was so very difficult on all of us. I tried to make sure that Nathan did not have to worry and just to be a kid. He would have no part of it. He automatically took the role as head of household at 10. He would tell his friends he couldn’t ride his bike or go play on days Mommy was sad even though I pushed him to do it. If anything needed to be fixed he had to do it, when his baby sister couldn’t tie her shoes he made her sit down and learn with his gentle guidance. This is just the way he is. When Nathan was 12 I met his stepfather Kevin. He had 2 children who were not in a good situation. When we married we sat the kids down and asked if they would have the two children move in with them and share their room and things. Nathan was the first one to say” when we needed help people helped us we should help now” We then had a new baby and brought the child count to 7. Soon after his stepdad left to do two tours in Iraq with the Army. Right away again Nathan stepped up and took head of household and was there for all 7 of them. They all truly adore Nathan because of his big heart and easy going ways. As Nathan grew this caring nature was not just about his family it was also about friends and at times complete strangers. You drive around town with Nate in his “Red Truck” you won’t go very far before you have someone honking or waving to him. A friend would breakdown in the woods Nathan would be there if a person would be sitting on the side of the road broken down he would stop to see if he could help. He has always had a great talent for fixing things and has become a mechanic that many people have come to trust not only to fix their cars but also his honesty with fair quotes. If he can fix it for cheaper he is the type of person to give money back. He is always busy, not only with trying to start his own garage but his D.J. business and all around handy man. Nathan has always been caring and giving no matter what he does or with who it is. He would do things like donate his time for benefits like helping Nicolin and Lindsay Stevens with his D.J. services and do it gladly. About a month ago Nathan discovered a lump on his neck. Within a matter of weeks it had grown the size of a baseball. Nathan just turned 26 in January and because of this he was no longer on our insurance. He put of going to the Dr’s because of expenses. He is self-employed trying to make a go of his talents. He has always been independent and never asks for help. He pays all his own living expenses from his work, but just cannot afford medical insurance. Finally he just couldn’t take it and went to the doctor’s. They did a biopsy and a cat-scan and the outcome was not positive. They told him he has lymphoma and have scheduled a surgery for October 31 to further investigate what they are dealing with. This will come at a huge cost to Nathan. Money he just doesn’t have. As you can imagine we as parents are heartbroken mostly over his health but also devastated over the fact that financially we are unable to help. We are looking for any guidance at this point that will help Nathan. The stories could go on and on of people he has helped in so many different way I think it is now time we can step up and help the wonderful, loving, giving, caring person get healthy.

I just want to update everyone on Nate it's been a while the week before last he went for his cat-scan and it came back clean he is still cancer free and now only has to go every 6 months and not every 3 months. I had to ask him so many time to make sure what he was saying was true . I am mommy after all It's such great news for him & Brandee and our family to know this really could be over and out of my child's body!!! I also want to share some AMAZING news anyone who went to N8s Cause Benefit knows we had a gentleman named Michael A. Guglielmo there doing bone marrow testing ,well I am over joyed to tell you that one of Nates close friends Greg Mann is a match. How wonderful he goes to support his friend and ends up getting the call that he is a match to maybe save someone's life. I am just so speechless that this has happened and so proud of Greg .I will keep you all updated on how things go but Greg I thank you a million times for getting tested and to everyone else who did because you still might get a call. What a beautiful gift. Anyone who wants to know how to get tested it's very simple you can contact me or Greg or Michael they are both on my face book. I am just so proud N8s benefit not only helped Nate but has now helped someone we don't even know thank to Michael for being there doing the testing and for those who got tested. Well tomorrow is the day !!! If all goes well It will be Nathans last chemo. We will not know for sure if he is in remission until he has his pet-scan and he will get all that info today or tomorrow. A few things as a mom I would like to say (here comes the tears) 1st How can I ever thank everyone for the support you have given Nate and our family. When I started the idea of the benefit I never expected the show of support he/we got and I can never say thank you enough to those who cared enough to be a part of it all. 2nd to my 1st born ,my baby ,my Nate I could never be more proud of how you handled yourself through all this....not once did you feel sorry for yourself, you pushed yourself even in times when I would of begged you to go to bed. You taught me what real strength is. As I watched you live your life as normal as you did as sick as you were knowing I can't do a thing to help and knowing not to push myself on you (as hard as that was) It made me fall in love with you like you were a new baby all over again. your an inspiration and I am over joyed that this could be over for you and your life can go back to normal whatever normal maybe now. I love you and I love you all for caring about my son. Lets all cross our fingers that when they send him for his pet scan we get the news we want and we can start living life without so much worry!!!!! Again thank you all for the help, love and support through this all!!

Such great news... Nathan has 1 more chemo the Dr has now said radiation will not be needed as of right now. he will have a pet scan soon after his last chemo which is on May 7 and then he should be done and better. The Dr seems very optimistic that they got it all but the pet scan will tell everything so I guess we get through the last chemo wait for that pet scan and cross our fingers that the cancer has left my son's body. Best day of my life!!!!!

Sorry everyone with my surgeries I Have been behind on my Nate's updates so here is a quick one. As of now he has 2 more chemos to go !!! I can't believe it all gone so fast...easy for me to say right? He gets very sick for about 3 to 4 days from chemo on then starts to come back to normal. I am sure he is stir crazy without working but not much he can do there. We will find out about radiation and or more chemo after the last 2 or maybe as soon as next week.,kind nervous now that its getting close to the end because I ( and I am sure he want's to find out more ;) ) that its all out of him. I hope and pray and I don't pray that it's gone!!! I want to thank EVERYONE who has helped with all the support with the help and those who showed up to the benefits, and helped in so many other ways I also want to thank friends that have been there for him. The Tuesday night dinners have been very helpful but the two very special friends Bryan Sparks and his girl Brandee Peterson who have been by his side more then anyone and has put this mom's heart at ease I could not ask for more. There have been many more but those 2 have sat with him through chemo and taken care of him at home when one of us couldn't be there..so thank you and love you guys. Will update you all next week as we hopefully get close to the end of this terrible journey. Thank you all and we will never forget the love and support!!! ♥
