When I became a lender, I was told success was all about sales. Units. Volume. Numbers.

And I understood why. That’s how we get paid.

But I decided to approach it differently.

I focused on people, not production.

I listened to their needs. I educated instead of pressured. I helped them understand the process, even when that meant telling them now might not be the right time to buy.

I cared more about earning their trust than earning their business.

And somewhere along the way, something pretty incredible happened.

It worked. And it continues to work.

Because I’ve learned that the best salespeople aren’t always the best at selling.

Sometimes, they’re simply the best at listening, understanding, and genuinely giving a damn about the people they serve.
