Here are four things we encourage clients to review each Medicare Open Enrollment season:

1. Changes to your Medicare plan
2. Changes to your health
3. Changes to your Medicare MAPD or Part D plan
4. Changes to your prescription drug needs

Health care continues to be one of the largest expenses in retirement. As health care costs grow, they can consume a larger portion of your retirement budget — and you need to plan for that. Take time to consult a Medicare professional this Medicare Open Enrollment season to ensure you have the best coverage for you in 2022.

We were founded on a simple belief. That everyone should have access to quality and affordable healthcare.

At no cost, we will help you find a health plan that best suits your individual healthcare and financial needs.

Since its enactment in 1965, Medicare has not covered routine dental care and half of Medicare beneficiaries (47% or 24 MILLION PEOPLE) do not have any dental coverage, as of 2019. Without dental coverage, many people on Medicare forego needed and routine dental care.

Medicare Advantage plans are the leading source of dental coverage for people with Medicare. While the scope of dental coverage varies across Medicare Advantage plans, there are some common features: virtually all Medicare Advantage enrollees have access to dental coverage as part of their plan, includes preventive benefits, and most have access to more extensive dental benefits, though cost sharing for more extensive services is typically 50% for in-network care.

While the Annual Enrollment Period is always important for Medicare beneficiaries to pay attention to. This year there are a lot of options for veterans to maximize their benefits for the 2021 plan year.

There are over 9 million veterans that are over the age of 65, or disabled (Medicare eligible). With their current VA benefits only covering care at VA facilities, but if they were to couple those benefits with a Medicare Advantage. They can access doctors and hospitals outside the VA system, have additional benefits for items NOT covered by Medicare, like Eyewear/Dental/OTC Benefits and more.

If you know of any veteran looking to make the most out of their options. Please encourage them to explore the Medicare Advantage plans. As always, thank you to all veterans for your service and sacrifice!

We've seen a lot of people over 65 who are losing group health insurance and transitioning onto COBRA.

COBRA is a temporary extension of the health insurance you had while working — the same coverage, but YOU pay the employer’s share of the premiums as well as your own.

Because COBRA does not count as insurance from active employment, you will not be protected from delayed coverage and late penalties if you wait to enroll in Medicare later than you should. You should enroll in Part B immediately because you are not entitled to a Special Enrollment Period (SEP) when COBRA ends.
