A few key updates:

• Beginning July 1, 2026, eligible Medicare Part D beneficiaries may have access to certain GLP-1 medications for weight management through the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge demonstration program.
• Eligibility is not automatic and may depend on plan participation, clinical criteria, BMI thresholds, covered use, and prior authorization from a medical provider.
• For 2027, Medicare Part D drug coverage continues to evolve, including updated deductible and out-of-pocket thresholds.
• Your Annual Notice of Change is still a “do not toss this” document — it helps explain what may change for the year ahead.

A common question around here is how is Medicare different than Medicaid? By definition, Medicare is a health insurance program for the elderly. Medicaid, on the other hand, is financial and/or healthcare assistance for low-income individuals. Some people 65 and older can qualify for both.
