First State Bank's Employee Spotlight for June is Kelsey Funderberg is Loan Processor/Loan Support Analyst at our Mendota Main Branch. She has been with us since 2021. Get to know Kelsey!

1. What do you like best about your role at FSB? - I enjoy seeing exactly how the loans I process help local farmers buy equipment, expand their operations, and navigate unpredictable agricultural cycles. I love the sense of accomplishment when a loan successfully closes and take pride in working closely with the loan officers to build long term trusted relationships with customers.
2. What advice would you give to new hires at FSB? - I know everyone has said this but ask questions!!!! Don’t be afraid to make mistakes and listen to the constructive criticism.
3. Tell us a little about your family. - We live on a farm outside of Compton and we have two children; Breckston is 5 and Kannon is 4. We are a motocross family, my husband and our oldest both race dirtbikes. Every weekend is a new adventure for us whether it’s a local race or 4 hours away!
4. Where is your favorite place to eat? - Uncle B’s in Amboy!
5. Where would you like to go on a dream vacation? - Ireland
6. Where is the best place you have traveled to and why? - Daytona Beach, FL – our oldest son wanted to go to the beach for his 4th birthday, so we did just that! It was the BEST vacation!!
7. Where is your hometown? - Tiskilwa, IL

What a dino-mite Saturday in McNabb! 🦖🥚

We were excited to be a stop on the Putnam County Library District's Community Scavenger Hunt, which kicked off their Summer Reading Program. Young dinosaur hunters stopped by the bank searching for dinosaur eggs, picked up their clue, and left with a special treat!

We welcomed 21 kids (and their parents) through our doors Saturday morning—an amazing turnout for our McNabb community! Thank you to the Putnam County Library District for organizing such a fun event and to all the families who participated.

We love being part of events that bring our community together and encourage a love of reading all summer long! 📚☀️
