Outstanding Ag Student Fall 2025, Bella Horton!!!!!!!!

Bella is a sophomore homeschool rockstar and the daughter of Randall and Sarah Horton.

She is the President of the Mountain Valley 4-H Club and a member of the 4-H Teen Leadership Club. Bella stays very busy with her many projects including raising and exhibiting dairy and market goats, market sheep, livestock judging, photography, and community service.

Bella had a very successful year. She was Reserve High Point Individual for Livestock Judging at the Arkansas-Oklahoma State Fair and a part of the Reserve Champion Livestock Judging Team at the Eastern Oklahoma State College.

Her success in the show ring knows no limits: First and second a the ADGA National Show, Reserve Champion at Nationals, Best Doe in Show at Stillwell, OK, Reserve in Show at the Arkansas-Oklahoma State Fair (including winning Champion Showman), and inducted in the Arkansas Farm Bureau Purple Circle.

Bella has also showcased her skill with a camera winning first place for her record book and second for her ability to speak about the use of her camera at District O'Rama. She took her speech on the road and won second at the State level as well.

Her successes are being recognized inside 4-H as well as she has been selected as a 4-H Teen Star for 2025 and accepted as a part of the Arkansas CALL Tour Program.

Bella's giving heart keeps her busy volunteering at events and programs like the Pack Shack, Santa's for Seniors, banquets, and anywhere she is needed.

We are very proud to be sharing Bella's accomplishments. We don't even know what to expect from this young lady for the next two years! We will keep an eye on her for sure!

Outstanding Ag Student Fall 2025, Britney Terry!!!!!!!!!!!

Britney is a senior at Cossatot River High School and the daughter of Kevin and Linda Terry.

She is the Cossatot River FFA Chapter Treasurer and a member of Girl Power, Ag Mechanics, and Career Development (horse judging and vet). She also finds time to raise and show goats.

Britney has had a successful fall winning Reserve Divison with her goat at AYE, 2nd place at state for Girl Power, 2nd place for plant ID at the Generation Conservation District in Hot Springs, and a scholarship to SAU at AYE.

She has a generous heart, helping when she can at evens such as the Veteran's Day Breakfast and with the Angel Tree program.

We are very proud to be sharing Britney's accomplishments. We wish her only the best as she begins to make her own way in the world!!

Outstanding Ag Student Fall 2025, Tatelyn Wood!!!!!!

Tatelyn is Junior at Acorn High School and the daughter of Jeff and Melarry Wood.

She is both a member of the Acorn FFA Chapter and the Ouachita River 4-H Club. She is an active participant in the FFA Vet Science Competitions and raising cattle. Tatelyn showed at the Cattlemen's Congress, Polk County Fair, Arkansas-Oklahoma Fair, Arkansas Youth Expo, and the Arkansas State Fair.

Tatelyn had an exceptional year bring home numerous ribbons, banners, and buckles. Some of her most notable successes are walking the state at AYE for Reserve Division Champion with Chester (Red Angus Steer), making sale at the Polk County Fair with Diesel (Red Angus Steer), and receiving Reserve Division Champion with Periwinkle (Brahman Heifer) at the Cattleman's Congress.

We are very proud to be sharing Tatelyn's accomplishments. We just know she will be even busier this coming year as a senior. We can't wait to see her go!!!

Outstanding Ag Student Fall 2025, Kyelee Horn!!!!!!!

Kyelee is a 6th grader at Acorn Elementary and the daughter or Candace and Sam Horn.

She a member of the Mighty Oaks 4-H Club. Her main 4-H project is her dairy goats. Kyelee was able to showcase her goats a multiple shows this past fall. She won showmanship at the Polk County County Fair and was inducted in the Purple Circle! Kyelee is also a member of the 4-H Cooking Challenge Team and the Acorn Middle School Archery Team.

Kyelee is a great example of heart and hands. When she is not with her goats or practicing with her teams (including basketball and softball), she is volunteering. She showed up for the Polk County Court House, the Mena Fire Department, Seniors for Santa, the Angel Tree, and the Elks Toy Drive. Kyelee is always willing to go where she is needed.

We are very proud to share Kyelee's accomplishments! We can't wait to see what she does in the coming years.

Outstanding Ag Student Fall 2025, Dalton Jewell!!!

Dalton is a senior at Mena High School and the son of Raymond and Paula Jewell.

Dalton has competed in Arkansas Youth Shooting Sport program for 5 years, raised animals to show, and been a member of the Mena FFA Livestock Judging and Forestry teams.

This fall he placed well with his gilts at the county, district, and state fair levels. He even took home Reserve County Breeding Gilt at the Polk County Fair.

Dalton's ag teachers praised his active participation and willingness to help when needed. He seems to have a level head on his shoulders and has developed the skills he needs to get him started out in life on the right foot.

We are very proud to be sharing Dalton's accomplishments. We wish him only the best as he begins to make his own way in the world!!

Congratulations to the Fall 2025 Outstanding Ag Students!!! We are very proud to share with you the guy and gals who went above and beyond this Fall.

Way to go Gwen Bradshaw, #40, and Connor McCormick, #22! They are the Cossatot River Basketball Players of the Month for December 2025!!

Gwen is a Senior, Post, for the Lady Eagles, and is the daughter of Vivi and Lance Bradshaw. In December, Gwen averaged 13.7 points and 7 rebounds per game. She is also a member of the CRHS Volleyball team, competes in Powerlifting, and throws the shot put and the discus for their Track team. She works as a Lifeguard in the summers, at the DeQueen City pool. Gwen is hopeful to get a college scholarship to throw the discus and shot put next fall. She enjoys painting and plans to study Art to become a High School Art Teacher.

Connor is a Senior, Point Guard, for the Eagles and is the son of LeAnn McKenzie and Scotty McCormick. Connor averaged 10.5 points and 7 assists per game in December. He is also a member of the CRHS Baseball team, where he plays in the outfield and also pitches. Connor has already accepted an offer from Arkansas State University at Mountain Home, to play baseball next year, after graduation. He plans to pursue a degree in Education while there, to become a Coach.

Congratulations to #12, Chloe Hooper, and #4, Jonas (JoJo) Hernandez, as the Mena Players of the Month for December 2025!

Chloe is a Senior, Shooting Guard, for the LadyCats and is the daughter of Taren Hooper and Mike Hooper. In December, Chloe averaged 14 points, 5 assists, and 6 rebounds per game. She is also a member of the MHS Volleyball team and the Soccer team. She serves as the Vice-President of the MHS Student Council as well. Chloe is going to play college volleyball next year at John Brown University in Siloam Springs, where she will major in Psychology.

JoJo is a Junior, Point Guard, for the Bearcats, and is the son of Amy Hernandez and Salomon Hernandez. In December, he averaged 12 points, 5 assists, and 2 steals per game. He is also a member of the Mena Soccer team and runs for the Track team, specializing in the One Mile run. Jonas is a member of the MHS National Honor Society and plans to attend UA Rich Mountain after high school and major in Finance.
