Your Credit Is "Moore" Than a File. It Affects The Life You're Building.

A Credit Dispute Is Not A Magic Phrase. It is a request for an investigation, and a strong dispute begins with facts.

Before challenging information on your credit report, be prepared to answer:
🔎 What specific information is inaccurate?
📄 What records support your position?
✉️ Who reported the information, and which credit reporting agency is displaying it?
🗂️ Did you preserve copies and proof of delivery?

Consumers have the right to dispute inaccurate information for free. Credit-reporting companies generally must investigate within 30 days, although certain circumstances may extend the investigation to 45 days.

But remember: Sending copied language without identifying a genuine reporting issue is not an individualized credit strategy.

Moore Financial Services, helps consumers analyze their credit reports, organize their documentation, and determine the appropriate next step, without shame, judgment, or unrealistic promises.

Your credit deserves "Moore" than guesswork. It deserves a strategy.

🚨 YOUR CREDIT SCORE IS ONLY PART OF THE STORY.

Many consumers focus on the three-digit number without reviewing the information creating that number.

Before the end of September, take a closer look at what your credit reports are actually saying about you.

Check for:

✅ Personal information that is outdated or incorrect
✅ Accounts you do not recognize
✅ Balances and credit limits that appear inaccurate
✅ Payment history that does not match your records
✅ Duplicate accounts or inconsistent reporting
✅ Incorrect account statuses and dates

Your credit report can influence whether you are approved, how much interest you pay, and the financial opportunities available to you.

Do not simply chase a score; understand the information behind it.

If something appears inaccurate, incomplete, or unfamiliar, document the issue and determine the appropriate next step. A generic dispute is not a strategy. Your circumstances deserve an individualized review.

At Moore Financial Services, we help consumers move forward without shame or judgment.

CREDIT DENIED? TURN THE REJECTION INTO A STRATEGY♟️.

Many consumers receive an “Unfortunately, we cannot approve your application” letter, feel discouraged, and immediately start applying somewhere else.

That can be a mistake.

When a creditor takes adverse action on a credit application, federal law gives you important rights. Depending on the notice, the creditor generally must either provide the specific reasons for its decision or tell you how to request those reasons. And if information from a consumer reporting agency contributed to the decision, the notice should identify the agency and explain your right to obtain a free copy of the report used in the decision.

___________________________
🛑Your denial letter is not just a rejection; it’s a roadmap for your comeback.

______________________________
🧐Before submitting another application:

• Read the adverse action notice carefully.
• Identify the actual reasons the lender gave for the decision.
• Find out which credit reporting agency was used.
• Request your credit report; you generally have 60 days after an adverse-action notice to obtain a free copy when the decision was based on information in that report.
• Compare the lender’s reasons with what is actually reporting.
• Look for inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or questionable information.
• If something is wrong, address it before applying again.
• If the lender offers reconsideration, ask whether your application can be reviewed again after you provide additional information or correct an error.
_______________________________
And please understand this:

👉🏾Being denied does not automatically mean you have “bad credit.”

You could have excellent payment history and still be declined because of high revolving balances, limited credit history, too many recent inquiries, insufficient income for the amount requested, too many existing obligations, or factors within that lender’s underwriting criteria.
________________________________
That is why I tell clients:

Don’t just ask, “What’s my credit score?”

Ask, “What is my credit profile saying to the lender?”

There is a difference.

A denial can feel personal, especially when you're trying to buy a home, finance a vehicle, get a business card, or simply create some financial breathing room.

But don't allow disappointment to turn into a string of new applications and unnecessary inquiries.

Analyze the denial. Identify the problem. Develop the strategy. Then make your next move.

💳Moore Financial Services helps consumers understand what is actually happening inside their credit profile so they can stop guessing and start making informed financial decisions.

If you've recently been denied credit, or you keep getting approvals that aren't on the terms you expected, contact us before you apply again.

Your credit score is "Moore" than just a number; it can influence how much you pay to borrow money, the terms you are offered, and, in some cases, even your insurance rates.
..
However, many consumers overlook an important fact: you don’t improve your credit by chasing a higher score. Instead, focus on improving the information and behaviors that contribute to your credit score.

______________________________________________________________
📊 What can influence your credit score?

Traditional FICO scoring generally weighs several areas: payment history, amounts owed/utilization, length of credit history, new credit, and credit mix. That means a recent late payment, high credit card balances, repeatedly opening new accounts, or closing older accounts without understanding the impact can work against you.

___________________________________________________________________
And here are a few things consumers often misunderstand:

• Paying a credit card in full by the due date doesn’t necessarily mean a $0 balance will be reported. What matters is the balance reported to the credit bureaus.

• A late payment can hurt, but one negative item does not define your entire credit profile. Recency, severity, frequency, and the rest of your history matter.

• Checking your own credit does not hurt your score. Certain promotional, account-review, and employment inquiries are also different from applications for new credit.

• When properly recognized by the scoring model, mortgage and auto rate-shopping inquiries may receive special treatment instead of each being evaluated like completely unrelated credit applications.

• Closing an older credit card simply because you aren’t using it may not improve your score, and could affect available credit and the age of your credit profile.

_____________________________________________________________________
Before you apply for anything else, understand what lenders are seeing.

🚨 YOUR CREDIT REPORT IS “MOORE” THAN A SCORE, IT’S YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION.

Every account, balance, payment history, address, inquiry, and collection appearing on your credit report contributes to decisions that can affect your ability to obtain housing, financing, insurance, and even certain employment opportunities.

That is exactly why accuracy and privacy matter.

The Fair Credit Reporting Act was created to establish protections surrounding consumer information and the credit reporting system. At its core, consumers should have a reasonable level of protection when it comes to how their personal information is collected, reported, accessed, and used.

💡 Here’s what consumers need to understand:

•Your credit file should not simply be accepted as correct because a credit reporting agency says it is.

•If information is being reported about you, you have the right to review it, question it, and dispute information you believe is inaccurate or incomplete.

You should also pay attention to who is accessing your credit report and why. Consumer reports generally may only be obtained for legally permissible purposes.

⚠️ Errors matter.

An incorrect balance, payment history, account status, collection, personal identifier, or unauthorized access can potentially influence decisions made about you.

That’s why we constantly remind consumers:
•DON’T JUST CHECK YOUR CREDIT SCORE.

•CHECK THE INFORMATION BEHIND THE SCORE.

At Moore Financial Services, we help consumers analyze their credit reports, identify potential inaccuracies and questionable reporting, understand their consumer rights, and develop a strategy for moving forward.

See something on your credit report that doesn’t look right? Let’s take a closer look.

Atlanta-based consumer credit reporting giant Equifax will pay $100 million to settle a class-action lawsuit that accused the company of misreporting millions of credit scores due to a coding glitch in 2022, according to court records. Equifax stated that the coding issue "affected how certain credit scores and credit attributes were calculated" between March 17 and April 8, 2022.

The settlement is “by far the largest class-action settlement ever achieved under the Fair Credit Reporting Act,” and provides compensation for around 4 million people.
