Welcome to the team, Tod Ashby, Chief Information Officer at Sunstar Insurance Group!

Tod brings more than four decades of technology leadership experience in the insurance industry, with a proven track record of driving enterprise transformation, modernizing infrastructure, strengthening cybersecurity programs, and leading successful M&A integration initiatives. His extensive experience at organizations including Prime Risk Partners, AssuredPartners, HUB International, and Van Gilder Insurance Corporation positions him to make an immediate impact across the Sunstar platform.

In his role as CIO, Tod will lead Sunstar's technology strategy, enterprise infrastructure, cloud and cybersecurity initiatives, data and reporting platforms, and systems modernization efforts. Working closely with the executive leadership team, he will play a key role in advancing our Corporate Infrastructure priorities and ensuring Sunstar has the scalable technology foundation needed to support continued growth and future acquisitions.

Sunstar Insurance Group is pleased to welcome Kelly AuBuchon to the team as HR Associate!

Kelly brings valuable experience in human resources and administrative operations, with expertise in payroll, recruitment and onboarding, performance management, and employee relations. A graduate of Southwestern Illinois College, she holds dual Associate of Applied Science degrees and is currently pursuing her SHRM-CP certification, reflecting her commitment to continued professional growth.

In her role at Sunstar, Kelly supports a variety of human resources functions, including recruiting, onboarding, compliance, payroll administration, timekeeping, and employee support initiatives. She will play an important role in helping deliver a positive employee experience and supporting efficient HR operations throughout the organization. As Sunstar continues to grow and invest in its people, we are excited to welcome another dedicated HR professional who will help foster a positive employee experience and support the continued success of our team across the organization.

Outside of work, Kelly enjoys spending time outdoors walking her two pugs, bicycling, fishing, gardening, and reading. A self-proclaimed proud child of the 1980s, she loves the decade's music, movies, and even Pac-Man.

Fun fact: Kelly memorized all 50 state capitals in fourth grade and can still recite every one of them today.

We’re proud to share that Sunstar Insurance Group’s First Arkansas Insurance has earned a total of $10,000 for Central Arkansas nonprofit Rescue Road through Liberty Mutual Insurance’s 2026 Make More Happen Award!

Thanks to the incredible support from their community and across the Sunstar network, they received over 750 votes, helping to double the original donation and create an even greater impact for animals in need. These funds will help provide essential care and support Rescue Road’s mission to give rescued animals a second chance at life.
