Philips recently issued a product recall for specific ventilators and sleep apnea devices.
If you own or rent one of the Philips products that was recalled, talk to your doctor as soon as possible about whether to continue using your recalled equipment.

If you would like to replace or repair your equipment, the supplier you bought the equipment from is responsible for replacing or repairing rental equipment at no cost to you when the equipment is less than 5 years old. If the equipment is more than 5 years old, Medicare will help pay for a replacement.

Important: Register your recalled equipment with Philips so they know you need a replacement, and can provide information on the next steps for a permanent corrective solution.

Have you heard about about Covid-19 antibody treatments? If not here is some information about a treatment you might be eligible for.

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) monoclonal antibody treatments

This FDA-authorized treatment involves an infusion of monoclonal antibodies to treat COVID-19. Health care providers can only administer the infusions consistent with the FDA’s requirements in specific facilities.

Medicare Part B (Medical Insurance) covers a COVID-19 monoclonal antibody treatment, if all of these apply:

* You tested positive for COVID-19.
* You have a mild to moderate case of COVID-19.
* You’re at high risk of progressing to a severe case of COVID-19
and/or at high risk of requiring hospitalization.

Your costs in Original Medicare

You pay nothing for this treatment during the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency when you get the treatment from a Medicare provider or supplier.

I am sure you are aware, but the age limit has been lowered to anyone over 65. That includes all my medicare clients. So if you are going to get a vaccination, here are some important things to know.

As vaccines become more widely available, it's important to keep taking steps to slow the spread of COVID-19.

Limit gatherings with others.
Practice social distancing.
Wash your hands frequently.
Wear a mask in public.

Once the COVID-19 vaccine becomes available to you, here's what you should know:

You will need 2 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine for it to be effective. When you receive your first dose, make sure to schedule your second dose.

Medicare covers the COVID-19 vaccine, so there will be no cost to you.

State governments are handling the distribution of COVID-19 vaccines. Look for updates from your state and local officials as more doses of the vaccine become available for additional priority groups.

Visit CDC.gov for additional trustworthy information on the COVID-19 vaccines.
