When the bowl of spaghetti is this close to Florida, everyone should at least pay attention to what's out there. While whatever might form over the next day or so is expected to stay possibly up to 100 miles off our coast, a little wobble our way could mean that coastal areas might even see some tropical storm force gusts as it passes. Considering it's going to be near the Gulf Stream and the surface temps around the Bahamas are still pretty high, this system could gain some strength pretty quickly as it heads north.
Once this becomes a depression of tropical storm, we could up the Hurricane Season Pucker Factor to 3 as that simply means we could see some effects from it. We will most definitely see some effects, but they shouldn't be much to worry about except for some coastal erosion from the high surf and breezy conditions that will likely begin at some point on Sunday.
All of that being said, this is the first system of the season that we should keep an eye on until it passes by Brevard County.
