🌽📚 Miss Sarah kicked off another year of Ag in the Classroom today with West Burlington 3rd graders!

Since many of these students have participated in Ag in the Classroom over the past few years, Miss Sarah started the school year with a fun round of Ag Bingo. The activity helped refresh students' knowledge of agriculture while getting them excited about some of the topics they'll be exploring throughout the year.

The students did a great job showing what they know about agriculture, and several took home fun prizes along the way! 🎉

Miss Sarah is excited to be back in the classroom and looks forward to another year of helping students discover the importance of agriculture and how it impacts their everyday lives.

🌽🎡 As we look back on the Des Moines County Fair on July 31, we're grateful for another great day of connecting with our community through agricultural education and member appreciation!

Despite rainy weather and a modified setup, the Des Moines County Farm Bureau Learning Tent continued to provide hands-on agricultural learning opportunities for children and families. Fairgoers explored interactive activities, learned about farming and food production, and earned prizes while having fun with agriculture.

We also celebrated our members during our annual Membership Appreciation Day, with more than 200 members stopping by to receive a meal voucher and Farm Bureau t-shirt as a thank-you for their continued support. The annual sawdust dig was once again a favorite among young fairgoers, bringing plenty of excitement and smiles throughout the day.

Thank you to our volunteers, fair staff, members, and families who helped make the Des Moines County Fair such a success. We appreciate your support and look forward to seeing everyone at next year's fair! 🚜💚

As summer winds down and a new season begins, we're reflecting on the difference Farm Bureau members make right here in Des Moines County. 🌽🚜

From agricultural education and youth opportunities to community outreach and local advocacy, Farm Bureau membership helps support programs that strengthen agriculture and our communities. Every membership helps make these efforts possible and ensures we can continue investing in future generations.

Due to today’s weather, we’ve moved under cover to the southeast end of the show ring. While it’s not quite the same as our full Learning Tent setup, we still have several hands-on activities, educational resources, and our membership booth ready to go!

We’re still looking for volunteers (ages 12+) to help out at the Farm Bureau Learning Tent on Friday, July 31 from 11 AM to 3 PM. This is your chance to make a difference—whether it’s for a few hours or the whole day!
