If you are selling real estate in Pennsylvania right now, the national headlines are not telling your story. And your story is actually a good one.
Redfin just reported that nationally, sellers outnumber buyers by 43%. That sounds concerning until you look at what is actually happening in Pennsylvania. Montgomery County is officially one of only five seller's markets in the entire country right now with 26% more buyers than sellers. That is not a typo. While most of the country is tilting in favor of buyers, Montgomery County is one of the handful of markets where sellers still hold the advantage.
Philadelphia is holding strong too. Pending sales are up 8% year over year and home prices rose nearly 2% in March to a median of $280,000. And statewide the picture is encouraging as well, with Pennsylvania home prices up 3.7% year over year and the typical home selling for around $293,000.
In a national market full of mixed signals, Pennsylvania is one of the best places in the country to be a real estate agent right now. Your sellers are in a stronger position than most people realize and your buyers have options that do not exist in the most competitive markets.
