It always makes me pause and honestly laugh a little when I hear:
“These are unusually uncertain times.”

Compared to when?

Uncertainty is not new. It is always present. It is the baseline condition of investing and of life.

What changes is not uncertainty itself, but our perception of it.

When markets are calm, we feel confident. When markets move, we feel uncertain. That feeling is not a reliable signal of reality. It is a reflection of human psychology. We are wired to overweight recent events, to react to visible movement, and to mistake volatility for risk.

Investment risk isn’t volatility it’s behavior. Learn how uncertainty impacts investor decisions and long-term returns.

As we move to close out the first quarter, markets have started to feel different.

Not broken. Not panicked (surprisingly). But clearly adjusting.

Equity indices have now logged five straight weeks of negative returns, with the Nasdaq slipping into correction territory. Growth stocks (i.e. like the big tech names we all know), which led much of the recent cycle, have been hit the hardest. At the same time, oil prices and bond yields have reasserted themselves as key drivers of stock prices, reminding investors that the macro environment still matters.

Markets are adjusting, not breaking. Explore Q1 trends in stocks, bonds, and valuations—and what higher yields mean for future investment opportunities.

A client asked me last week whether the recent rotation out of growth stocks (AI, software, and the like) would continue and whether it’s now too late to invest in value.

I know they were asking a relative question.
But I couldn’t help myself. I stepped back and answered first from an absolute standpoint.

Is now a good time to invest in value?

Absolutely.
Yes.

Is now a good time to invest in value? A look at market rotation, growth pullbacks, and why absolute value still wins over speculation.

The largest intergenerational transfer of wealth in history—the so-called Silver Tsunami—is underway as Baby Boomers pass assets to spouses, children, and other beneficiaries. What is often underappreciated is that women, particularly divorced women and single women, are positioned to become the primary stewards of this transferred wealth.

As wealth shifts in the Silver Tsunami, divorced and single women are becoming key decision-makers. Learn how a Wealth Done R.I.T.E. approach protects and grows assets.

Over the past week, several people have sent me articles highlighting the same concern: the growing level of U.S. debt and what it could mean for the long-term health of the country.

First, I would like to remind investors that even if debt problems are inevitable, timing matters.

Rome wasn’t built in a day. Neither was the United States. Rome fell, but depending on your definition of “fall,” it took 200 to 1,000 years. So Rome fell, but it also kind of didn’t.

A perspective on U.S. debt fears, market volatility, and why owning high-quality businesses and staying diversified still matters in uncertain times.

New Pennsylvania legislation, specifically Act 50 of 2025 (formerly House Bill 1176), signed into law on November 24, 2025, and taking effect on January 23, 2026, fundamentally alters how the estates of individuals who die without a will (intestate) and without heirs are handled.

People.
As we wrap up 2025, we’re giving our communications and social posts a year-end breather so the team can return fully charged for 2026. It was a strong year. Markets created wealth for long-term investors. The firm grew. We enter the new year with a rock-star team, a strong balance sheet, and a diversified, values-aligned client base.

As the year draws to a close, business owners operating LLCs (default taxation) or S Corporations (traditional S Corporation or LLC taxed as an S Corp) have a valuable opportunity to evaluate financial strategies before December 31. While both structures offer pass-through taxation, proactive year-end planning can help optimize after-tax outcomes and strengthen long-term wealth strategies.

The Federal Reserve wrapped up its latest meeting with a 25-basis point rate cut, bringing the federal funds rate to a range of 3.5% to 3.75%. Stocks responded positively and moved higher, while bond yields drifted lower. With December underway, many investors are wondering whether this opens the door for a traditional Santa Claus Rally. Based on today’s outcome, the Fed may have provided just enough encouragement.

This weekend, for the first time this season, Kai stepped onto the wrestling mat with the kind of grit that only a kid chasing progress can show. BOOM. Wrestling is brutally honest. One moment you’re on your feet; the next you’re staring at the lights, wondering how you got there. She started strong and finished strong, in the middle…a lesson. What matters most isn’t the winning; it’s showing up, learning, evolving, and staying around for your adaptations to pay future dividends.
