Just came across a quote that struck me:

Happiness = Quality of Life minus Envy. ~Jimmy Carr

If you know who Jimmy Carr is you might be as surprised as I am to see that this is coming from him. The point he was making is we, on average, live today like the kings of 150 years ago but we still always want more. The average Quality of Life is so much higher by almost every metric than even 75 years ago, so we should be happier, right?

Happy 5/29 = 529 day!

In case you missed it, and most have, changes were enacted through the OBBB that MAJORLY affect the availability of Federal Student Loans moving forward.

There are now lifetime caps on how much Federal Loan money is available, both for the student and the parent. That difference will have to be made up from other sources, and the option of last resort is now Private Student Loans. These have more strict underwriting, higher interest rates and less friendly repayment options.

The admissions process is in the beginning of a major change. The main question since 1981 has mostly been "What college can I get into?", because the basically unlimited availability of Federal Student Loans made attending any school possible, even if it was a bad financial idea in the long run for the student.

Either now or very soon the main question will be "What college can I afford?".

Guidance Counselors aren't talking about this.
College Admissions departments aren't talking about this.

WIKT(TW)? Or more accurately "The rest of this week" I guess as it's Tuesday already.

Sadly today IS a big day for us Tottenham fans - 2 matches left this season and if Spurs win today, they will avoid relegation officially. This would be like the Nationals, White Sox and Rockies playing in the minors at AAA this year because they were the worst 3 teams last year. The three best AAA would have moved up to MLB for this season.

Not a battle we fans thought we'd be in to start the season. A draw today just about does it as well as they are in a great position for the tiebreaker, but a loss and they'll need to win or get some help on the final day Sunday.

Oh and the FIFA World Cup is 24 days out!!!

3 times a year I take a few clients out as a small way to say thank you for placing their trust in me. Monday was a fantastic day and despite all of us being bogey golfers at best we managed a 67, just 13 shots off the win lol!

We ended strong with birdies on 3 of the last 4 holes including a near holeout from 90 yards by yours truly at the last! Not often I even hit a green (worst part of my game is my 2nd shots) let alone have tap in birdies!

We need to work on our tucking in the shirts game though.

Thanks to the West Shore Chamber of Commerce for putting on a great event!

I had put in the 3 last stepping stones before the driveway to connect the path around the house and said "I'll get around to adding the new red stone soon". That was at least 2025 if not 2024. I can feel Lesley's eyes rolling as she reads this...but yesterday was the day the project was completed!

Day 1 of Lesley dropoff the kids went well on her end but on my end not so much. I had to get one of the girls to an early morning dentist appointment to and she got sick on the way there. Too early, probably a little illness, taking morning meds on empty stomach and driving in the car was not a good mixture. Oh well, there's always tomorrow and hopefully your Monday started off better than mine!

Monday, April 13th - Mechanicsburg-ish, 6:00pm-10:00pm. Had a bunch of appointments not work related and hopefully the sick kiddo feels well enough to tag along. 1st day of picking up the kids in the afternoon.
