Kansas farmers and ranchers need certainty — and they’ve been in limbo since the farm bill expired in 2023.

A strong farm bill supports food and farm programs, strengthens conservation practices and makes vital investments in agricultural research.

The House Agriculture Committee is drafting the next bill now. Advancing it out of committee is a critical first step.

Encourage Rep. Davids today to support the markup vote and move the farm bill forward by visiting https://bit.ly/4bdm7Od.

Today, $500 donations to each of our three Meade County volunteer fire departments are headed to the mailbox.

In the aftermath of the recent wildfires, we’ve been reminded once again of the critical role these departments play in protecting our rural communities and agricultural livelihoods. Their efforts safeguard homes, livestock, crops, pastureland, and infrastructure. Because of them, families are safer and producers can continue the important work of feeding and fueling our state and nation.

We are especially mindful that these departments are powered by volunteers. The time they give and the sacrifices they make to serve and protect speak volumes about their character and commitment to Meade County.

On behalf of the Meade County Farm Bureau Association and our membership delegation, we are proud to support our local fire departments and the essential role they fulfill in keeping our community safe. Thank you for your dedication, courage, and service.
