We LOVE making an impact in our communities! We are excited to see how much this fund can grow this month.

Donations made to the USD 373 Expendable Fund during September will go even further thanks to a $100,000 matching opportunity from the Patterson Family Foundation through the Newton Community Foundation.

Throughout the month, every dollar donated to the USD 373 Expendable Fund will be matched with an additional 50 cents. That means a $100 gift becomes $150 in support—and every dollar remains in Newton.

The USD 373 Expendable Fund, managed through the USD 373 Education Foundation, supports initiatives focused on retaining Newton Public Schools employees and strengthening staff morale.

Peoples Bank and Trust helped launch the monthlong campaign with a generous $1,000 donation.

“Peoples Bank and Trust understands the true value of the entire USD 373 staff, and it’s important that we support them the best we can,” Peoples Bank and Trust President Sal Lujano said.

Donations must be received by September 30 to qualify for the 50% match. September offers the greatest opportunity for each gift to make an even larger impact on the employees who serve Newton students every day.

“Thank you to Peoples Bank and Trust for kickstarting this fundraising campaign. We appreciate their continued support of our staff and the 373 school community," USD 373 Human Resources Director Brandon Simmelink said.

Community members may contribute in either of the following ways:

Give by check: Make checks payable to Newton Community Foundation, write USD 373 Expendable in the memo line and mail them to:

What a night, Hutchinson! 🌮❤️

Peoples Bank and Trust is proud to support Taco Hut’s new monthly free taco night—an effort created to help local families as everyday costs continue to rise.

The first event drew a line out the door, with Taco Hut preparing to feed 1,500 people and the community coming together to serve even more. No forms, identification or proof of income—just neighbors helping neighbors.

Free taco night will return on the last Monday of each month through December. We’re honored to join Taco Hut, local volunteers and other community supporters in helping make it possible.

We had a great time participating in College Night in downtown Newton! 🎓

It was a pleasure connecting with students from Bethel College and Hesston College, handing out Peoples Bank and Trust goodies and celebrating the start of another school year.
