While our crews are ready to respond to water line breaks, you can prepare by knowing where your water shutoff valves are located.
Your home has two shutoff valves:
Personal Shutoff Valve: Your responsibility to locate and use.
City Shutoff Valve: For city staff use only.

This valve completely shuts off water to your house and may be found:
- In the crawl space where the water line enters the home.
- In the garage near the water heater or laundry hookup.
- Outside near the foundation, often within a concrete ring or clay pipe.
If you canโt find it, contact a plumber for help locating or installing one.

This valve is located between your meter and the street and is for city staff use only.
It is located in a concrete or plastic box in the ground, typically in front of your home near the side property line.
