❤️ MCKENZIE SPOTLIGHT: MRS. COURTNEY KEE ❤️
We are SO excited to introduce our very first McKenzie Spotlight! 🎉
Meet Mrs. Courtney Kee—a lifelong McKenzie resident, a dedicated educator, and someone whose heart is truly invested in the children and families of our community. 🍎📚
Courtney is celebrating 27 years of teaching, and when asked what keeps her going, her answer is simple: her passion for kids. ❤️
Her teacher motto was passed down from her momma who many of us in McKenzie knew and love and has served her well throughout her career:
✨ Firm. Fair. Friendly. ✨
Teaching runs deep in the Kee family. Courtney comes from a family of educators, including her mom, sister, Aunt Evadine, and her great-grandfather Ramsay, who was a professor of Mathematics at Bethel University.
And when Courtney isn’t in the classroom, family is at the center of her world. She and her husband, Josh Kee, have been married for 26 years. Josh is the principal at McKenzie Middle School. Together, they’ve raised their two sons, Cameron and Carter, and their family continues to grow with daughters-in-law, girlfriends, and their sweet granddaughter Ruby Kate—with another baby girl on the way! 💕👶🏼
Courtney graduated from McKenzie High School in 1996 and earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Bethel University. She has spent her entire life in the community she now helps shape through her work.
When we asked what she loves most about McKenzie, she said:
“McKenzie is my HOMETOWN.” ❤️
She loves the friends and family that make McKenzie special, spending time with her loved ones, attending McKenzie Church of Christ, shopping, pool time, and—of course—supporting the McKenzie Rebels! 🏈❤️🖤
Courtney lives by a quote that perfectly captures her heart for teaching:
“If you love what you do, you never have to ‘work’ a day of your life.”
We couldn’t think of a better person to kick off our McKenzie Spotlight series! ❤️
Mrs. Courtney, thank you for years of pouring into the children of our community and for being one of the many people who make McKenzie feel like home.
Help us show Mrs. Courtney some love in the comments! 👇❤️
And stay tuned… because there are so many more incredible people in our community who deserve their own spotlight! ⭐️
