At some point you have to stop explaining your past
and start building your future.
What happened to you matters.
But it cannot become your identity.
Real talk.
Your pain is valid.
Your struggles were real.
Your setbacks were unfair.
But if every conversation still starts with what hurt you,
you are living backwards.
There is a difference between healing
and holding on.
Healing moves you forward.
Holding on keeps you stuck in a chapter that already ended.
People may understand your story.
They may even sympathize.
But sympathy does not build your life.
Action does.
You cannot rewrite yesterday.
You cannot re argue the past.
You cannot get back lost time.
What you can do is decide who you are becoming.
Not the abandoned one.
Not the broke one.
Not the rejected one.
But the disciplined one.
The focused one.
The rebuilt one.
Your past explains you.
It does not excuse you.
At some point you have to stop introducing yourself by your wounds
and start introducing yourself by your standards.
You are not what happened to you.
You are what you choose to build.
