A major winter storm is heading our way, with heavy snow and potential ice expected to impact Mayfield and western Kentucky along with hazardous travel conditions and possible power outages.
We want everyone to stay safe! ❄️
Quick preparation reminders for everyone:
●Charge your phones, devices, and power banks.
●Stock up on non-perishable food, water, medications, and flashlights/batteries for potential outages.
●Avoid unnecessary travel—especially once precipitation starts. Bridges and overpasses freeze first!
If driving is a must, keep an emergency kit in your car (blanket, water, snacks, shovel, etc.).
●Clear snow/ice from sidewalks and entryways to prevent slips.
●Stay warm indoors—use safe heating methods and never use grills/generators inside.
●To try to prevent frozen pipes, leave faucets dripping and cabinets open.
