📢 Tax planning isn’t a tax season activity.

By the time you’re knee-deep in tax season, there’s not much you can do to help your current year taxes. Tax prep is all about looking backwards, NOT forwards.

Tax planning sets the stage for the next year. It’s where all the decisions need to happen:

Should you increase retirement contributions before year-end?

Does it make sense to realize a gain or a loss this year?

Are you planning a large charitable gift?

Did your income jump because of a bonus, equity compensation, or a big sale?

Do you need to adjust withholding before you get surprised in April?

And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
