It is with great sadness that we share our Vice President Amanda Prater of Mattoon passed away on Monday, March 30, 2026. Our members knew Amanda as someone who was always smiling and ready to offer a welcoming hello.

Amanda joined the Area Educational Credit Union in 2008, was named Vice President of Operations and quickly earned the trust of members and colleagues. She loved working at the credit union and often spoke about what truly nice people we serve. She proudly lived the credit union motto of "people helping people", every day.

We ask you to keep Amanda’s family in your prayers as they navigate this loss.

Funeral services honoring her life will take place at 4 p.m. Friday, April 3, at Shilling Funeral Home, Mattoon. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home.
