Your impact deserves to be felt—not just reported. ❤️

When sharing stories with donors, think HEART:

H — Human: Start with one person.�E — Emotion: Help us understand what they experienced.�A — Action: Show how your ministry stepped in.�R — Result: Celebrate what changed.�T — Thank Your Donor: Help them see the role their generosity played.

Because “we served 4,286 families” is impressive, but telling us about one of those families is what makes the number mean something.

The goal isn’t to leave out your statistics. It’s to give them a face, a name, and a story.

Remember: your organization doesn’t have to be the hero. Your ministry is the bridge, your donor is the partner, and the person whose life was impacted is at the heart of the story.

Facts inform. Stories inspire. Together, they can motivate generosity.

One of the most common mistakes made by nonprofits is that language they’re using to convey the NEED.

“We need money” isn’t a vision donors can get excited about.

There is a lot of noise right now about the challenges facing nonprofits.

But the latest Giving USA data 📊 gives us an important perspective:
➡️ Generosity is still happening.

Americans gave an estimated $617.2 billion to charitable organizations in 2025, and individual donors accounted for 64% of that giving.

For faith-based organizations, there’s even more reason to pay attention: religion remains the largest recipient category, receiving $151.58 billion in charitable contributions.

But we don’t share these numbers so ministries will sit back and assume the gifts will come.

We share them because they remind us of the opportunity in front of us.

There are people who want to make a difference. 🙏People who want to invest in meaningful work. People who want to be invited into a mission bigger than themselves.

Our responsibility as nonprofit leaders is to steward those relationships well.

Build trust.�Share the impact.�Invite people into the vision.�Thank them well.�And keep building the relationship long after the gift arrives.

The generosity is there. Let’s steward it well.

Your organization matters but it isn’t the hero of the story.

The hero is the life being changed. 🫶🏼

Donors aren’t inspired by programs, budgets, or how long your nonprofit has existed. They’re inspired when they can clearly see the person who found hope, the family that received support, or the community that is stronger because someone chose to give.

Your organization is the bridge between generosity and transformation.

So when you communicate with donors, don’t only explain what your nonprofit did. Show them the difference their partnership made.

Because people don’t simply want to fund an organization.

They want to help change a life.

What a special day it was serving alongside the at their annual Back2School Bash!

We loved seeing hundreds of children and families encouraged as they received backpacks, school supplies, and, most importantly, the reminder that they are loved, valued, and created with purpose.

It was also super fun to meet host Jaccob Slavin of the Carolina Hurricanes, fresh off a Stanley Cup and Olympic gold medal.

One of our favorite parts of serving ministries is getting to do more than just support from behind a computer.
We love partnering with organizations from the planning and promotion stages all the way to event day, helping wherever we’re needed and celebrating what God is doing together.

We’re grateful to have played a small part in such a meaningful day and are praying for all the students as they head into a new school year!
