There is currently a bill (SB 402) circulating in the General Assembly that would prohibit insurers from refusing, canceling, nonrenewing or raising premiums based solely on the age or condition of an owner-occupied dwelling's roof, except in certain circumstances. If this becomes law I will try to update everyone on the impacts they might see in the future.

It's official! Mathews Insurance Agency has purchased the old Chesapeake Bank building at 10839 Buckley Hall Rd and will be moving operations. Some remodeling work is required and we anticipate being in our new building around the beginning of the year.
