TIP TUESDAY 👀 Have regular eye exams!

Routine eye exams are about so much more than just checking your vision. They can also help detect signs of other health concerns, making them an important part of taking care of your overall health!

And while we’re talking about eye exams… did you know we offer vision insurance?

Some health insurance policies, including certain Blue Cross Blue Shield plans, offer vision coverage as an add-on at a low rate. We can also help you find separate vision insurance policies to fit your needs.

Depending on the policy, vision insurance can help cover the cost of:
👓 Routine eye exams
👓 Glasses
👓 Contact lenses
👓 Help with eye procedures

We all know long-term care can be costly, but long-term care insurance can be costly, too. That’s why it’s important to know there are other options available to help you plan ahead!

That is what we’re here for!

Short-term care coverage can help with the cost of a shorter stay in a nursing home or assisted-living facility.

Another option is a hybrid life insurance policy, which can help cover nursing home or assisted-living expenses if needed OR be paid as a traditional life insurance benefit upon death.

There’s no one-size-fits-all answer when it comes to planning for the future.

Through the app, you can do a multitude of things:

• Check your plan benefits
• See where you’re at with your deductible & out-of-pocket expenses
• View claims and download EOBs
• Access your virtual insurance card — no need to carry the physical one all the time!!
• Find in-network providers
• Use the cost estimator to help plan for upcoming appointments or procedures

As your agents, we are always here when you need us, but the MyBlueKC app is another great resource for those quick questions and information you may need on the go!

Something we hear often is people saying they want “good” insurance. Most of the time they judge it by one question:

"How much is my monthly premium?"

But that's only one part of the question.

The better questions are:

✔️ What's my deductible?
✔️ What's my maximum out-of-pocket?
✔️ Am I able to still use my current doctors?
✔️ What happens if I'm hospitalized?
✔️ What will I actually pay if something serious happens?
✔️ Are my prescriptions covered?

Fact is, the cheapest plan can sometimes be the most expensive one when you go to use it.
