After-school activities can be a rush of spending time with friends, attending clubs or sports, and students making their way home. Reviewing a few key safety tips before your students leave school can help keep them safe and everyone on the same page.

🔵Set up a check-in routine, so your children contact you as soon as they arrive home. A family locator app or a GPS tracker on their backpack can also give you real-time peace of mind on their route home.

🔵If your child will be home alone, establish clear rules about locking the door, who is allowed to visit, and what to do if someone unexpected shows up.

🔵Talk through internet safety with your child, reminding them never to share personal information, including their name, address, or school, with anyone online.

🔵Make sure your child knows what to do in an emergency. That means knowing where to shelter during severe weather, where to meet outside in the event of a fire, and who to call if they need immediate help.

🔵If your child walks or bikes home, review the route together and make sure they know to avoid shortcuts through unfamiliar or secluded areas and to never accept a ride from someone they do not know.

We hope you find these after-school safety tips helpful for you and your student this school year.

As a reminder, if you need anything this school year, do not hesitate to reach out to our team. We are here to support you.

We just started a new school year, and there’s one question I want every parent to think about:

**If something happened to you tomorrow, would the financial plan you have today still work for your children?**

Protecting your kids’ future isn’t just about starting a college fund. I believe it starts with three things:

🛡️ **Protect** the income your family depends on.
💰 **Build** toward your child’s future, even if you start small.
📋 **Review** your beneficiaries and make sure your money will go where you intend.

You don’t need to solve everything today. You need a strategy you can maintain.

🎥 Watch my latest video: **Protecting Your Kids’ Future: A Simple Strategy**

If you know another parent who needs to think about this, please share it with them.

As life insurance agents, we are often asked about the different types of riders individuals can add to their life insurance policies. Life insurance riders are additional layers of coverage that can help you customize your coverage so it aligns more closely with your needs.

One such rider is the Return of Premium (ROP) rider. Swipe for an overview of what it does, why it matters, how it works, and who it may be best for.

Before your kids head out the door, make sure they know how to get to school safely, no matter how they are getting there. Here are a few tips to keep in mind:

🔵Walking to school? Stick to sidewalks, cross only at crosswalks, make eye contact with drivers before stepping into the street, and always walk in a group when possible.

🔵Riding a bike? A properly fitted helmet is non-negotiable. Remind students to ride on the right side of the road with traffic, come to a complete stop before crossing, and choose a route with minimal intersections and light traffic.

🔵Taking the bus? Students should stand at least 6 feet back from the curb when waiting for a bus, wait for the bus to come to a complete stop before boarding, and never walk behind or in front of a bus without making eye contact with the driver first.

🔵Getting dropped off? If you drive your child to school, obey school zone speed limits, follow your school's drop-off procedure, and never pass a bus that is loading or unloading children.

🔵Teen drivers? Review the basics of safe driving. This includes, but is not limited to, having all passengers wear seatbelts, putting devices away while driving, and driving the speed limit.

We hope you find these tips helpful as students transition back to school. As always, if you have any needs or questions, do not hesitate to reach out to our team. We are happy to help.
