Following is an update from the City of Martinez 🌧️ Major rain and wind is expected for the area starting early tomorrow morning -- Wednesday, January 4. The National Weather Service predicts that rain will hit the region starting at around 7:00 a.m. and will continue until Thursday morning. Wind gusts between 35 to 55 mph are also expected to occur within the same time frame.

Flooding, power outages, and downed trees/debris are all expected impacts of this storm.

Downed trees and tree limbs, downed power lines, and other large debris in roadways and sidewalks should be reported to the Martinez Police Department non-emergency line at (925) 372-3440.

If you are experiencing a power outage, please contact PG&E at 1-800-743-5002 or check their website to find or report an outage.

Other tips to help you prepare for tomorrow's rain and wind include:

Charge your phones and batteries tonight.

Check out FEMA's website on how to prepare for a flood, or what to do if a flood damages your home.

Stay home and off the roadways if possible.

Follow the City of Martinez and Martinez Police Department on -Facebook for routine updates will be posted throughout this storm.

It’s really coming down out there!

🌧️ Are you ready for the rain? Martinez is projected to get approximately 2-3 inches in rain in the next 12-48 hours. 🌧️

If you need it, sand is available for pickup at:

-Rankin Swimming Pool (upper parking lot)
-Ferry & Allen St
-F St. (located at the west end of F St. off of Alhambra Ave. at the beginning of the park district trail, just past Alhambra High School)

**Please note sand bags are at a separate location and can be picked up either at City Hall (525 Henrietta St) or at the Corporation Yard (300 Alhambra Ave)**

I have a friend in Redding that felt this quake. Redding is about 100 miles away from the epicenter.
