Located in Martin, Tennessee, University Town at Martin is clean and well-kept now--with 73 brick homes available for rent, a clubhouse, and 23 acres of land--but it wasn't always such a nice place to live. Though the homes weren't built very long ago they quickly fell into disrepair, no thanks to absent management, over-occupancy, and abusive tenants. By the time Nash

ville-based FMBC Investments was presented with the opportunity to purchase this entire rental home subdivision, the bank had foreclosed on the property. Those of us at FMBC Investments had a vision for this property--that it could serve as a comfortable, safe home for UT Martin college students and Martin, Tennessee, locals and that it could contribute to this beautiful little college town instead of detracting from it. To fix this gigantic fixer-upper, we painstakingly rebranded, forming a new entity called University Town at Martin. We also renovated each unit and secured experienced and responsive property managers to care for the property and its residents. Slowly but surely we filled these once-derelict homes with happy renters. Today we are very close to full occupancy and are proud of the positive changes we've made not only at University Town but in the town of Martin, Tennessee, as a whole.
