As I mentioned in a previous post the real problem here is that clients don't value the plan, they value the advice. So looking to garner more value from the planning down the road or even worse on an ongoing basis is slim to none! Advisors need to be in a different kind of conversation at the onset and then ongoing to create the long last depth of value advisors are seeking. Don't get me wrong the math is important, but the true depth of value and relationship is for those advisors willing and able to get real with clients and assist them in getting clear on what it is that truly matters to them and what they really want to pursue or see happen. The interesting part is these types of engagements are not wealth-driven, yet each advisor needs to be clear on their niche or target that's in line with the business they want to build.
