Early on in my career, a senior advisor told me the most important ribbon to achieve each year is the “Best Year Ever” ribbon. I believe the most important competition is with yourself, because you focus on improving and stop getting discouraged by comparison.

To earn this ribbon, it’s based on your own production from the prior year. It’s a reflection of pushing yourself to work harder, learn more, and ultimately impact more people. I’m proud to have wrapped up my fourth awards year with another “Best Year Ever” ribbon! 🎀 Thank you to my clients for helping me keep this streak going. Your support and referrals mean a lot.

I’m part of a Bible study with fellow advisors and staff from Northwestern Mutual. Today, I have the opportunity to facilitate our time together. We’ll be discussing More Than a Carpenter and reflecting on how its message applies to both our personal lives and our work here in eastern Iowa.

This group is part of something much bigger. It actually began back in 1967, when a Northwestern Mutual financial representative gathered a small group of like-minded individuals ahead of the company’s annual meeting. By the early 1980s, that gathering had grown into the Christian Fellowship Breakfast, which expanded into large downtown hotels.

Today, the Christian Fellowship Community is centered on building genuine, ongoing community, through monthly virtual forums that connect us with others across the country, as well as local weekly study groups like the one we have here. It’s no coincidence that many of the top advisors in our company are a part of this. There’s something powerful about being grounded in faith, community, and purpose as we do our work.

Disclaimer: Christian Fellowship Community (“CFC”) is an independent not-for-profit corporation. CFC is supported by volunteers and through donations from its participants. CFC is not endorsed by, affiliated with, or promoted by Northwestern Mutual.

Happy Monday! Our pavers are complete, so parking out front is available again!! You can access our block from Center Street as they are beginning construction on First Street to the next block. You’re also welcome to park in our back lot too, but be sure to knock as we don’t keep our back door unlocked.

My schedule is pretty open this week, so I’d love to meet with you. Send me a message and let’s set up an appointment.

I can work with you to show you how Social Security may look for your situation. No matter when you plan to retire, working with a financial advisor can make financial planning much easier.

It’s unlikely Social Security will disappear completely, but here’s what you need to know about how payments may change.

I began as an advisor in January of 2023. I spent 2 years working out of our Cedar Rapids Northwestern Mutual District Office, where I gained financial knowledge, experienced high-level training, and grew tremendously both professionally and personally. In my third year, I transitioned to our Marshalltown Network Office into the successor advisor role, where I had the privilege of working closely with Jeff and Gordy.

Jeff Krough retired at the end of 2025 after 36 years of serving as an agent. Gordon Leth has served as an agent for 42 years. I am incredibly proud to continue their legacy and serve this community.

A huge thank you to my incredible Northwestern Mutual team, my family for their endless support, my soulmate, and my first clients who believed in me.

Finally, let all glory be to God who made this possible even if I was resistant and had other plans for myself 5 years ago. God gave me something better than I could’ve dreamed of.

*Pictured are the legends Jeff and Gordon, my incredible partner Kaleb, Jess who coached me into the business, my awesome dad, and my beautiful mom.
