This is perfect for starting the new year!
What do you need to throw away in 2021??
This would be a good process to do:
Write down on a piece of paper, the trash you have been carrying around for way too long. (Limiting Beliefs)
Then, either shred them, crumple them in a ball and throw them in the trash, or even born them!!
Creating a process will help you to remember that the “trash”
Is no longer part of your everyday life.

Excited to be able to attend this training tomorrow night. The topic is so appropriate for where our society is at right now. I think we have all experienced some trauma and fear this last year.
What have you experienced this year?

Neuroscience, Trauma and Belonging is a virtual 3-hour training for LSCCs and LSCCs-in-training. We have specifically designed this training to support the learning you have received or are receiving through the Lark’s Song Certified Coach training program.

Attending this training will give you a greater understanding of WHY coaching works in our brains and bodies, how to become more effective in partnering toward transformation by understanding the impact of trauma, and co-creating spaces of belonging that accelerate us all toward a more fulfilled and flourishing world.

Because we know that many people are experiencing financial strain right now, we are offering this event as a pay-what-you-can training with a recommended donation of $20.

Please register with the link below and join us tomorrow - Friday, October 23rd from 6:00-9:00 PM EST for this experience.

Oh, to be among the trees!

Oh, to be among the trees!

WHEN I AM AMONG THE TREES
by Mary Oliver

When I am among the trees,
especially the willows and the honey locust,
equally the beech, the oaks and the pines,
they give off such hints of gladness.
I would almost say that they save me, and daily.
I am so distant from the hope of myself,
in which I have goodness, and discernment,
and never hurry through the world
but walk slowly, and bow often.
Around me the trees stir in their leaves
and call out, “Stay awhile.”
The light flows from their branches.
And they call again, “It’s simple,” they say,
“and you too have come
into the world to do this, to go easy, to be filled
with light, and to shine.”

Finding Joy in the Shadows
Sometimes it seems impossible to find joy during these hard times. Joy is found deeper than our circumstances.
What Joy have you found during the last few months?

Finding Joy in the Shadows

This past spring it felt like a dark shadow fell over the earth. Everything changed so quickly, I felt the emotions of fear, doubt, and uncertainty, day after day. I felt numb. The days were blending one into another with little emotion or energy.

As I sat down for my quiet time one morning a tear fell on my journal, followed by a flood of tears. I felt myself starting to wake up, to feel the emotions returning, even the tears felt good. I felt the joy returning to my heart and deep into my soul. The joy was escaping from the shadows that had been overtaking me the past weeks. I was starting to find joy in the shadows.

Romans 12:12 (NIV) Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
How could I find joy in the middle of a Worldwide Pandemic? This verse in Romans tell it all.

Be Joyful in hope- I had not lost hope. I knew that my hope was not in what was happening around us, but my hope and joy were found in my relationship with God.

Patient in affliction- Many people were feeling afflictions they had never felt before. Being laid off from a job for the first time, fear of catching the Corona Virus, and living in isolation away from family and friends. We had to draw upon every bit of patience we had ever had. In Matthew 10:29 it talks about how the Father cares for the sparrow, of course He would care for me.

Faithful in prayer-And then it all came down to prayer. Being devoted to spending time with God every day. He provided the Joy amongst the shadows. And the more joy I sought, the dimmer the shadows became, and the more the joy increased.

Where is the joy in your life? Is it hiding in the shadows or bursting forth?

May the joy that is found deep within your soul, overflow from you to everyone you encounter.

Love, Lori

You know when you are reading something, and you stop and go back and read it again.... well that just happened. And I thought I have to share this. It may not got you the same way-
“Neuroimaging has shown that as we age, our cognitive center of gravity shifts from the imaginative right to the logical left. At some point, most of us stop living out of imagination and start living out of memory.
That’s the day we stop creating the future and start repeating the past. That’s the day we stop living by faith and start living by logic. That’s the day we stop dreaming of What If possibilities and end up with only regrets. But it doesn’t have to be that way!”
Mark Batterson - If
We probably all know people like that, I think it is programmed Into our American culture.
You reach a certain age and you must retire, people expect less of you, and you expect less of yourself.
“It’s someone else’s turn. I did my time.”
But... What if there is more?? What if we are just beginning?
I don’t want to live with regrets. I want to live with possibility!!

It’s been awhile since I have shared any of my Covid Journal. Maybe someone reading this needs to see them. They aren’t just for me.
What are you doing to help yourself daily to manage quarantine?
Are you surviving or thriving?

My favorite time of the day thought this “stay at home” order is the quiet of the morning. I started a new journal in February and not too long after Covid-19 hit the world.
It is easy to get overwhelmed and lost in the doom of the news, the chaos of our new normal, and the anxiety of not knowing the future.
This journal has really helped me to focus and start my day in a good place.
I will share some of my daily pages.
I pray they may encourage you.
