✨ Brilliant Past Friday ✨

In 2001, a small idea took root at what was then Shearman Elementary in Marshall.

Second grade students became MCCU members through a pilot program designed to give them hands-on experience with saving. With accounts created especially for them, students had the opportunity to start building healthy money habits while learning that even small deposits can add up.

That little pilot program grew into what is now CU in School®.

Today, students at 10 area schools across grades K-12 have access to make weekly deposits right at their schools from October through May. They’re encouraged to set savings goals and earn age-appropriate incentives along the way.

What started with one school has grown into a program helping students build financial confidence and habits that can benefit them for years to come.

Because when we help young people build a stronger financial future, we’re also helping to build stronger communities. 💜

Our team is making the most of the final days of summer! ☀️

We kicked things off at the Branch County United Way Color Run, where we had a blast manning a color station and cheering on everyone who came through.

Then, we headed to the Quincy Daze Festival for an ice cream pop-up featuring our 75th anniversary flavor, Whoo Cut the Cheesecake!? 🦉

Color, community and plenty of ice cream? Sounds like a pretty perfect summer weekend to us.
