Remember, those sirens are for people who are outdoors. For warnings inside your home, you can use:

Weather apps on your smartphone
Local news broadcasts
Take this opportunity to review your family's emergency plan and make sure everyone knows what to do when a real warning is issued.

Blizzard Warning starts tonight. Please stay safe:

• Avoid travel if you can (whiteouts happen fast).
• Charge phones/power banks and have flashlights ready (skip candles).
• Stock essentials: meds, water, snacks, pet food.
• Prepare for outages: warm layers + blankets; use heaters/generators safely (never indoors).
• Protect your home: keep heat on, open sink cabinets on outside walls, and let faucets drip if temps plunge.
• If you must drive: full tank + winter kit (scraper, shovel, jumper cables, blankets). If stuck, stay with your vehicle and keep the exhaust pipe clear.
