Crasher Spotlight 8 of 8: Meet Melissa!

Melissa Darling started working at Embers Credit Union in July of 2025. She is the lead teller on the teller line of 10 tellers at the Escanaba branch. Melissa had been in the financial industry for 10 years. She loves problem solving and helping others figure solutions out to their problems.

Melissa is happily married and is a mother of two children. Emmett who is 10 years old and Harper who is 8 years old. Her family has a golden doodle named Gemma who is the baby is the family.

In her free time, you will find her with her family, at the baseball field or volunteering her time to the community. She is a member of the GFWC Escanaba Woman’s Club and is also on the board of the GFWC Woman’s Club. She is an active member of Delta Force 2026.

Crasher Spotlight 7 of 8: Meet Rebeca!

She’s a cat mom of two little fluff balls. There are 100’s of trails right at the end of her street so she likes to spend time exploring the woods when she can, and in the summer she’s spending time in her garden. Rebeca also enjoys arts and crafts and paints quite often.

Crasher Spotlight 6 of 8: Meet Heavenlee!

Heavenlee is someone that one could describe as a woman who is dependable, lively, candid, resilient - amongst many other things. She is dedicated to maintaining her work/home life balance as a 27-year-old, single mom, to be the best version of herself for her 5-year-old son, Jaxson.

Heavenlee was born and raised in the UP. She has two older brothers. Her and her son currently reside in Gladstone with their dog, Myles, & cat, Mia. She tends to wonder why she stays living in a place where the wind sometimes hurts her face, but she is reminded often that it is due to her love for our small-town community ties. In her free time, she loves spending quality time with friends/family, coloring, and weather permitting, lives for backyard bonfires, walks/rollerblading through town, or going for car rides, without a destination, listening to music enjoying the view & the prettiest painted skies to decompress.

Heavenlee has been working in the banking industry at Great Lakes First Federal Credit Union coming up on 7 years. She loves the long-lasting relationships she has established with members. In every position she has worked, ranging from a teller/MSR/Collections/Loan Officer to her present role as the Member Service Representative Supervisor – she strives to make sure members are taken care of to the best of her ability all the way around.

Cindy is a dedicated and detail-oriented professional with a strong commitment to providing exceptional service and building meaningful relationships. With a background in customer-focused environment, she brings a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a passion for helping others achieve their financial goals.

She is known for her reliability, organization, and ability to handle responsibilities with care and accuracy. Cindy takes pride in creating a welcoming and supportive experience, ensuring each member feels valued and understood. Her approachable personality and problem-solving mindset allows her to effectively assist with a wide range of needs while maintaining a high level of professionalism.

As someone new to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, she is excited to become part of the community and build lasting connections. She values teamwork and collaboration, contributing to a positive workplace culture while supporting her team in achieving shared goals.

Outside of work, Cindy values the time she has with her family and friends. She enjoys trying all the coffee shops she can find and caring for her rescue dogs. She loves taking them on walks, exploring the outdoors, and embracing everything the UP has to offer. Her strong work ethic and genuine care for others make her a valuable asset to any credit union team.

Crasher Spotlight 4 of 8: Meet Alison!

Alison Earley is a Universal Service Representative at the Menominee branch of Peninsula Federal Credit Union, where she has worked for the past two years. She is passionate about helping members reach their financial goals. She also takes pride in providing friendly, personalized service while building strong, long-lasting relationships with members to create a positive experience.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time outdoors and traveling. This includes everything from hunting, fishing, to golfing, and hiking. She also values spending quality time with her family and friends whenever she can.

Crasher Spotlight 3 of 8: Meet Hanna!

Hanna is 25 years old, she is born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. She has been at Soo Co-op Credit Union for almost 7 years. She started as a teller in 2019. After five years, she was ready for a change and was promoted to the receptionist position. Hanna takes pride in providing excellent member service. She thrives on helping others and solving problems. Her goal is to follow in her mother’s footsteps and build a career within the accounting department. Her mom even happens to be the accounting manager at Soo Co-op as well!

Outside of the work life, she enjoys being outdoors, especially on the boat and her jet ski. She enjoys going to concerts, spending quality time with her friends and family, along with her two dogs Ekco and Demi.

Crasher Spotlight 2 of 8: Meet Olivia!

Olivia Wood graduated in May 2025 with a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources and works as a Human Resources Coordinator at TruNorth Federal Credit Union. In her role, she supports day‑to‑day HR operations, helps employees with workplace questions, and keeps things running smoothly behind the scenes. She enjoys the people focused side of HR and likes being part of a workplace that feels supportive and approachable, where she can build genuine connections and be a resource for others.

Outside of work, Olivia spends most of her time with family and friends, whether that’s hanging out with her nieces and nephew or heading out for a weekend trip with friends. She enjoys cooking, camping somewhere quiet, and working in her garden, especially when the weather cooperates. Those slower moments give her a good balance between work and everyday life and help her reset and recharge.

Crasher Spotlight 1 of 8: Meet Tyler!

Tyler currently works as a Commercial Loan Processor at Embers Credit Union, after first joining the commercial department as an intern during the summer of 2025. In his role, he assists with preparing and processing commercial loan files, helping ensure everything moves smoothly from application to closing.

A former college baseball player, he recently picked up slow-pitch softball as a new hobby. It’s a great way for him to stay active, keep his competitive spirit alive, and continue enjoying the game even after his college playing days.

Family is also a big part of who he is. His parents, Deanna and Jim, and grandparents, have always been strong supporters. He also has a younger brother, Trent, who is currently attending college in Saginaw.

Whether he’s at work helping move commercial loans forward or out on the field playing softball, he enjoys staying busy, working with others, and continuing to grow both professionally and personally.

Crasher Spotlight 8 of 8: Meet Mackenzie!

Mackenzie has worked for U.P. State Credit Union for 6 years. She is the head of the card department and works with their Credit and Debit Card team. Mackenzie love to help her members with problem solving and how to prevent fraud from happening on their account. In her free time, you can find her in the gym coaching JV Volleyball. Mackenzie love to work with her community by volunteering at school event, HOME of Mackinac county (as the bartender), and whatever else comes her way. Mackenzie loves to spend her time with her family traveling all over the world, because she believes family always comes first. Her hobbies are crocheting and making sour bread from scratch (you can call her Jane Dough). If you see Mackenzie feel free to stop and say hi, she loves meeting new people.
