So here is a list of all available drug plans in the NJ area. As you can see the Humana $4.40 is the cheapest of all plans. However, make sure you are checking your drugs to ensure that they match that drug plan, if you sign up for a $4 drug plan, and take a serious drug, your co-pay is going to be significantly higher than it might be in a $22 drug plan....
So make sure you do the leg work. We only work with 4 of the drug plans posted here, two of the Humana plans and two of the Cigna (Healthspring) plans.
If you are not an existing customer of JBA Insurance Brokers, than we are not doing your drug plan, sorry. You can thank Medicare and the carriers for that, because that is how THEY wanted it....
And I might even recomend a phone call to them to tell them how inconvenient it is to attempt to figure out these drug plans on your own....
They'll likely tell you to call SHIP...... I can't tell you how many customers have called me after going through SHIP, and telling me what the counselor told them, and 90% of the info they got, was wrong..... Plus SHIP counselors are not held to the same standard we are, no licensing, no certifications, simply someone who volunteers to talk about Medicare......

So here's the skinny on some drug price changes... Obviously good news for consumers, bad news for insurance companies.... Remember, the bear is always wanting that honey jar, and when you take it away, he gets very angry and wants to find new ways to get that honey jar, like raising your drug plan premiums, changing the formulary, raising the deductible, etc etc.........

Transitioning onto Medicare can be an extremely difficult process for people. Most people stress over it, some try to do it themselves, others may talk to a neighbor or someone who sits next to them on the train on the way to work.
