A great day at Citizens Bank Park with the Harriett Financial Group team! We enjoyed some time together, good conversation and plenty of Phillies baseball. Even better, the Phillies came away with an 11–7 win, capped off by a grand slam from Kyle Schwarber! ❤️⚾️

Grateful for a fantastic team and the opportunity to spend some time together outside the office.

Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua all celebrate independence on September 15, the same day Hispanic Heritage Month begins. Mexico follows on the 16th.

There’s a lot of pride behind the celebration: in heritage, in family, in what's been built, and in generations of hard work that made it possible.

To all of us keeping that tradition alive: Happy Hispanic Heritage Month.

🐻 Fat Bear Week is back, and the competition is looking VERY well-fed.

From September 22–29, fans can vote for their favorite brown bears at Katmai National Park and Preserve as they pack on the pounds before hibernation. 🐟

This year’s field includes 11 contenders, including reigning champion 32 Chunk, who’s back to defend his title after winning the 2025 crown. 👑

The bracket also features familiar faces like 128 Grazer, 856, 901, 909, and 910, along with several other salmon-fueled heavyweights hoping to become the internet’s next favorite bear.

Fans can watch the bears on Katmai’s live cams and vote through the single-elimination tournament until one gloriously chunky champion remains. 🏆

So, who gets your vote this year? 🐻❤️

The internet's favorite bear contest is back. See details on Fat Bear Week 2026.

📦 Wholesale prices moved higher in August, with the Producer Price Index rising 0.4% for the month, right in line with expectations.

On an annual basis, headline PPI was up 5.4%, while core PPI, which excludes food and energy, rose 0.2% for the month.

Energy was one of the biggest drivers. ⚡ Final demand energy prices increased 4.2%, while goods prices overall rose 1.1%. Services prices increased just 0.1%.

The latest report adds another piece to the inflation picture as the Federal Reserve weighs its next interest-rate decision.

For consumers and businesses alike, wholesale price trends are worth watching because they may eventually show up in the cost of everyday goods and services.

The producer price index was expected to rise 0.4% in August, according to the Dow Jones consensus forecast.

Which month historically gives the S&P 500 its biggest headache?

If you said October, think again!

Although October has a reputation for market events, September is actually the month that's experienced more downturns.

September finishes higher less than half the time (historically around 44 percent).

There are theories behind it.

Institutions often rebalance their portfolios at the end of the third quarter, adding to the volatility.

Traders return from a slower summer, which can shake up trading.

And the federal government's fiscal year ends September 30, so budget uncertainty also tends to land in September.

📰 Did you already know this? Or is this new news?

📋The S&P 500 is an unmanaged index that is considered representative of the U.S. stock market. Index performance is not indicative of the past performance of a particular investment. Past performance does not guarantee future results. Individuals cannot invest directly in an index.

🏠 Higher mortgage rates are pushing some homebuyers to look for lower-cost alternatives.

The average rate for a 30-year fixed mortgage rose to 6.79%, while the average rate for a 5/1 adjustable-rate mortgage fell to 5.94%.

That gap is drawing more attention to ARMs, which made up 8% of mortgage applications last week, their highest share in five weeks.

🔑 The tradeoff is that an ARM’s rate can change later, which means the lower initial rate may come with more uncertainty down the road.

For buyers comparing mortgage options, it’s worth looking beyond the starting rate and understanding how the loan could change over time.

Mortgage rates continue to rise, pushing some buyers to riskier, adjustable-rate loans in order to find savings. Rates are at the highest level since June 2025.

Twenty-five years ago today, the world stopped.

Never forget the lives lost. The families who carried on without them. The first responders who ran toward danger without hesitation.

And the unity that followed.

Some days aren't about lessons or takeaways. They're just about remembering.

As sundown approaches tomorrow, Rosh Hashanah marks the beginning of the Jewish New Year.

More than a simple celebration, this is a traditional season of deep introspection.

To hit pause, reflect honestly on the year that passed, and focus on what matters most: family, community, and our core values.

To all our clients, professional partners, and friends celebrating this weekend…

Shana Tova U'Metuka

May it be a healthy, peaceful, and deeply rewarding year for you and your loved ones.
