A new federal law just reshaped employee benefits and most employers aren’t ready.
Signed on July 4, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBB Act) introduces sweeping changes that will directly affect benefit strategies starting in 2026.
Key updates include:
• Expanded HSA eligibility for employees using Direct Primary Care
• Permanent telehealth flexibility under HDHPs
• Increased Dependent Care FSA contribution limits
• Ongoing tax-free student loan repayment support
• Introduction of a new tax-advantaged savings tool for children the “Trump Account”
These provisions bring new opportunities, but also new requirements. Plan documents, payroll systems, employee communications, and compliance processes will all need attention.
At Sullivan Benefits, we’re already working with clients to evaluate the impact, prepare for implementation, and ensure nothing gets missed in the transition.
