Last night, the Markleville Plan Commission recommended the Maximize Markleville 2035 Comprehensive Plan to the Markleville Town Council for adoption. Once adopted, the plan will become the legal and official comprehensive plan for the Town of Markleville. The Markleville Town Council will vote on whether to adopt the plan or not at their regular meeting next Monday, November 14th.

For now, the planning process is over. On behalf of the MCCOG planning team, thank you to everyone who contributed to the Maximize Markleville 2035 Comprehensive Plan. We could not have done this without all your input and participation!

Join us at the Markleville Plan Commission meeting at 7 PM on Monday, November 6th, for the final public hearing about the Maximize Markleville 2035 Comprehensive Plan. This is the final step before the plan is brought to the Markleville Town Council for adoption. Once adopted, the Maximize Markleville 2035 Comprehensive Plan will become the official comprehensive plan for the Town of Markleville.

The draft comprehensive plan is finally live, and we need your feedback one more time! We would love to know what you think about your new comprehensive plan. This is the last step before bringing the plan to the Markleville Plan Commission for approval and then to the Markleville Town Council for adoption. The draft plan is almost done! Soon, you’ll be able to read the whole draft plan before it is adopted by the Markleville Town Council. The plan contains extensive background information about Markleville, metrics about public engagement (in person and online), and goals and objectives the town can achieve to maximize its future.

The goals and objectives are recommendations divided into seven focus areas to equip Markleville’s residents and decision makers for improving the town out to 2035. Goals are specific to a focused topic area while general enough to encompass several objectives. Objectives are measurable action items that will achieve their respective goals once completed. Both the goals and objectives were developed by following the Maximize Markleville 2035 Comprehensive Plan’s vision statement, as pictured below.
