The Public Works Department maintains a holiday collection schedule to coincide with City/department holidays and the Cedar Rapids/Linn County Solid Waste Agency. The 2026 schedule is now available. Dates in bold indicate that City facilities are closed, including the Recycling and Yard Waste Drop-Off facilities.

December is by FAR the craziest month of the year for us, as we know it is with many people. We're modifying some hours to allow more shopping hours as we get closer to the Christmas holiday.

We've made the decision to close on Christmas eve again this year. It's an important day for both our family and some of our employees families. Plus, by the time we get to Christmas eve we're pretty much crawling on the floor with exhaustion and mumbling "we need more caramels". 🤪🤪

We hope there are plenty of opportunities for you to stop in and shop with us between now and whatever you're celebrating this winter season. If you can't stop in, you can still order through our website or send us a message and we'll do what we can to get you taken care of!
