My nephew battled seizures for over 20 years. They became stronger and more frequent over time (despite recently being on three medications and regular trips to the emergency room). The seizures prevented him from being able to hold any type of job. He fought for many years to get disability but was given the run around year after year; never getting the financial help he desperately needed. Two days ago his seizure took his life. He was a straight A student, a good person, a father to two beautiful teenage daughters and like a brother to my own son. It's no surprise he has donated his organs and has already been matched to save another life. However, his family has no funds to bury him. The system has failed him greatly. He deserves to have a dignified and proper burial. His daughter has set up a GoFundMe page here https://gofund.me/ca5bf6c9 to try and raise enough money for his funeral arrangements. I don't know if there is any way his kids can get any arrears from the disability he should have gotten and never did. If anyone knows, please put it in the comments or dm me. I have seen people get disability in a short time for far, far less. I don't know how this system failed him so terribly, but it's completely heartbreaking.
